Cost to college: None – completely FREE!
As an Engineering or Science institute, you can initiate an Open Source Tech [OST] lab within your college wherein following ate the requirements along with relevant terms –
- Material: OST team will provide all the components and boards for the learning and RnD Lab of OST. It includes 4 development boards, 20+ sensors, 20+ I/O devices & 5+ communication devices. A complete list will be shared with you.
- Space: A Lab-type space with seating arrangement for at least 20 students at once and 4 computers required. There must be internet connection as well. The Lab must be accessible at least 10 hours or more (10am – 6pm at least). Lab must also accommodate all the components safely.
- Committee setup: A governing body with Teachers & students must be setup within the college to run the Lab & manage the programs. Minimum 5 students & 2 Teachers required in the committee.
- Teacher training: OST team will provide free training to the teachers, for a period of 2 hours while enabling the Lab. Any long-duration training is to be charged separately.
- Student fee: There has to be a maximum of 50 students selected to access the Lab. It will be paid at 1000 per year.
- Student training: Resources will be available online, while hardware will be available in the lab. Students will follow guidelines as given. OST team will be available at office for solving doubts as well there will be mentors to help them in their learning.
- Workshops: College can opt for paid workshops for all the students of the college to initiate the program every year. These are optional and there will be various other topics covered.
